Imbali is a personal space for me and I sometimes like to share about my relationships with women who have impacted me on this journey. Being home in Zimbabwe has allowed me time to reflect on family and all that and I found myself wishing I had known my stepsister more and I know I could have done better in that regard.

The name Imbali comes from the Zulu language and means “a flower” and “to blossom.” It is a beautiful and common girls’ name, and it carries deep personal meaning for me.

My heart will never be the same after this visit. I believe God has made room in my heart to carry these children and to actively seek ways to improve their educational lives.

When I think of Rumbi I see a strong woman, full of love, compassion, who loves those that others find hard to love and she is my hero.
